Morpho at IFSEC South Africa

IFSEC South Africa is one of the largest security exhibitions in Africa and is running for the 17th year this year, 19 – 21 June at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, Johannesburg. In 2011 there were over 6000 visitors.

Wordlwide leader in the security business, Morpho is exhibiting at IFSEC for the second year running. In South Africa Morpho plays a prominent role in developing the Access Control and Time and Attendance market with over 100 000 biometric terminals deployed since 2004. Through its subsidiary based in Sandton (Johannesburg), Morpho has a successful network of partners for reselling recently strengthen by Powell Tronics (Pty) Ltd.

Johannesburg is one of the largest business hubs in Africa and the location of the subsidiary enables Morpho to provide high quality products and services with local expertise. One of the largest installations is at the mining site of Murray and Roberts Cementation in Johannesburg which has 240 Morpho biometric terminals installed across 28 sites for access control and safety reasons as a double check for clearance before an underground blasting is done.

One of the highlights at the exhibition for Morpho is the demonstration of the Morpho Finger on the Fly the features include contactless biometric recognition and it reads the fingerprints on a moving hand. In addition to the Morpho Finger on the Fly is the MorphoAccess® Product range including the recently launch MorphoAccess® VP series as well as the Itemiser® and StreetLab® for the detection of explosives and narcotics.
