Launched by Morpho and its partner Wadaro and most recently shown at GSMA Mobile World Congress 2014, the LTEnhance solution for 4G LTE SIM cards helps telecom operators improve their quality of service over fourth-generation mobile networks.

"The LTEnhance solution can be included in our SIM cards letting mobile network operators measure the quality of service they offer their customers over 4G networks. It extends TAP (Total Analysis Package), which is already present in 2G and 3G networks," explained Mohamed Hamdy, Global Solutions Sales Manager at Morpho. "We produce SIM cards with the TAP application installed. These SIM cards are then deployed in retail consumer handsets and machine-to-machine devices to provide mobile network operators with a variety of key performance indicators detailing their network performance. We are currently the only company to offer this type of solution over the 4G LTE network. Currently we have commercial deployments and trials with mobile network operators in Europe, Latin America and Africa." Analyzing Quality of Service
With the development of 4G networks, operators still need to measure their quality of service (QoS); TAP is a vital solution for building differentiation in a sector where competition is fierce. Operators need to know network rejection causes and behavior as well as handover from one network type to another (during the same conversation, a person can go back and forth between a 3G and a 4G network). Operators want to know the percentage of calls that don't get through and how often calls get dropped. And they also want to know how transmission quality varies from one device to another (Lumia, Galaxy, iPhone...) or from one brand to another (Nokia, Samsung, etc.). "Morpho can do all of this with LTEnhance," pointed out Mohamed Hamdy. "Prevailing regulator and operator requirements determine the need for subscriber related privacy handling. This is built into TAP with a variety of options for the operator to deploy the privacy required."
