Morpho supports UN initiative by integrating civil registries and vital statistics (CRVS) in its MorphoCivis® solution

Paris, November 19, 2015 - Morpho (Safran) announced today that it is supporting the new sustainable development objectives approved by the United Nations General Assembly, by integrating civil registries and vital statistics (CRVS) in its MorphoCivis® identity management and registration system.
MorphoCivis

This state-of-the-art system addresses the expectations of developing countries by guaranteeing a legal identity for all citizens and access to public services.

The implementation of a powerful civil registry covering a country's entire population is one of the keys to the UN's commitment. In turn, it requires secure, digital civil registry systems, in particular supporting the establishment of statistics on entire populations. Governments and decision-makers use these statistics as a vital tool to support the development of their countries.

Morpho is bolstering its identity solutions at a time when major development agencies are also focusing on identity issues, such as the World Bank with an initiative called ID4D (Identity for Development).
Morpho has over 25 years of experience in identity documents and population registration, aiming at managing elections, producing drivers' licenses, delivering healthcare and welfare services. Morpho's broad experience in all areas concerning personal identification and the digital management of civil registries is clearly illustrated by its key role in programs such as Aadhaar in India (with biometric data on nearly one billion persons registered to date), the PMT program in Colombia (modernization of civil registries), and the Mauritanian identity program (secure, digital population registry).

By leveraging on its MorphoCivis offer, Morpho can provide a state-of-the-art solution to governments with the tools to implement their e-governance vision, following national laws and processes and international recommendations.
