Mali selects Sagem Sécurité to deploy a national center for public records
Paris, July 7 th, 2008 Sagem Sécurité, part of the SAFRAN Group, announced today that it has been chosen by the Malian Ministry of Territorial Administration and Local Communities, following an international call for tenders, to deploy a national center for public records. Sagem Sécurité will supply a secure solution for the management of public records, enabling the creation of certified identity documents. One thousand portable data collection stations linked to an Automatic Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) will be deployed throughout Mali to record biometric data for more than 10 million citizens. Sagem Sécurité will provide the government with the proven technical resources and human resources needed to ensure the successful completion of this project, the long-term viability of the system and associated technology transfers.
